Legends Ball

Please join us as we celebrate south Florida’s Living Legends at the 1^st Annual Legends Ball. In addition paying tribute to local gospel Legends, we will also honor Ms. Albertina Walker as a National Living Legend.

The Legends Ball is a national fundraising event for The Gospel Complex for Education & Preservation. Honorees from each event will be part of the Legends exhibition in The Gospel Complex.

An exciting elegant evening is planned with appearances by National and Local Gospel Artists. You will not want to miss out on this star studded event that serves as the first official fundraiser for The Gospel Complex for Education & Preservation.

Sunday May 25, 2008 - Ground "Blessing" Celebrations

Sunday Morning Praise 11 am service - Join your favorite artists at local churches and worship South Florida Style. Check back soon for a list of participating churches and artists.

Gospel Complex for Education & Preservation Ground "Blessing" - 3 pm. Join us at the site of The Gospel Complex for Education & Preservation for a unique Ground "Blessing" ceremony featuring a special presentation by the Seminole Tribe of Florida and Broward County's Interfaith Community. Transportation to the Ground Blessing will be provided for those participants staying at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa.

Benefit Concert - Broward Center for the Performing Arts - 7:30 pm - What better way to end the Ground Blessing festivities and kick off the 22nd Bi-Annual International Gospel Industry Retreat than with an evening of great gospel music featuring Jonathan Butler and CeCe Winans. Transportation to the Broward Center for the Performing Arts will be provided for those participants staying at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa.

Genesis Performing Arts Seminar

9:00am- 10:30am - An Actor Prepares. That will consist of drama exercises based on the Stanislavsky System. Students will be engaged in improvisational technique that stresses "The System." Instructor Vicki- Elaine Felder

9:00am-10:30am Liturgical Dance Class. designed to increase understanding of religious based dance style, while reinforcing basic principles of dance technique. Instructor Mbalia. Cook

10:30am- 12:00pm Building A Character. This session will focus on the mechanics of character development for the actor. Instructor Vicki- Elaine Felder

10:30- 12:00 Musical Theatre Performance Workshop offers participants the opportunity to learn dance and drama techniques and build performance skills for musical theatre. It is designed to assist dancers, actors, choreographers, directors, and choir directors increase performance and production skills for their own productions. The instruction will be followed by a question and answer period to address specific issues. Instructors Walter Rutledge and Charlette Seward

1:30pm- 3:30pm Drama, Dance and Musical Theatre Rehearsals for Tuesday Evening Taping. The Drama seminar will be performing vignettes constructed by the drama participates. Participates are encouraged to provide original Christian themed scenes for performance consideration. This session will be a drama and liturgical dance collaborative performing session conducted by Mbalia Cook and Vicki- Elaine Felder.

The Musical Theatre component will provide participate the opportunity to perform in a musical theatre production. It will also include instruction in lighting, costuming, and backstage production. Instructors Walter Rutledge and Charlette Seward.

Participation in morning classes strongly suggested for performing in any of the workshops. Participation is based on instructor evaluation. Participants will perform during Tuesday 7pm taping.

K & K Mime Workshop

Pastors Karl and Keith Edmonds of the gospel mime duo K & K Mime are calling for all mime groups/solo mimes and liturgical dancers to come together for an exciting 2-day Mime Workshop.

Come and let K & K Mime teach you and your group the fundamentals of mime and/or dance including, but not limited to:

- Makeup application

- Appropriate attire

- Song selections

- Business aspect

- Choreography

.... and much more! You will also enjoy lunch with Pastors Karl and Keith Edmonds! At a BBQ along with other celebrity artists

You will be able to showcase your group (or yourself, if solo) live in the presence of K & K Mime. You will also have an opportunity to minister live with K & K Mime during a television taping.
