Gospel Complex for Education & Preservation
Groundbreaking Celebration
May 25, 2007 3:00 PM
The time has finally arrived. On May 25, 2008, we will be making history and breaking ground on the Gospel Complex for Education & Preservation in Lauderhill, FL.
Be a part of history and join us for this monumental occasion. The Ground Blessing Ceremonies will be followed by a Concert at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts featuring CeCe Winans and Jonathan Butler.
Gospel Music is ingrained in American culture, yet, unlike several other genres of music that have facilities dedicated to preserving their archives, Gospel Music does not have a home in which to house its artifacts, memorabilia, historical documents and recordings. That is why The Gospel Complex will become a major source of research and a repository of information on Gospel Music from around the world.
The Gospel Complex brings together the rich history of Gospel Music in one central location. The mission of the Gospel Complex is to promote, preserve, and perpetuate the evolving history of Gospel music through education and economic empowerment.
The Gospel Complex is two-fold – promoting education and recognizing our rich heritage by preserving the gospel genre.
